Darkness is experience of the shadows,

or the backside of our eyelids.

It appears where there seems to be nothing,

in order to replace something.

Something that can be bigger than comprehension,

yet something we can contain and carry in our hearts.

It is like a wave

or a lack of the same,

so maybe it’s like calm water surrounding you and your lover in a forest lake at night.

It’s been given shades,

but it has no colour,

it has no body,

and yet it’s inflicted with a variety of names and shapes.

With the darkest days of the year as atmospherical setting for the exhibition, 7 international artists collaborate to create interpretations of some of the shapes the dark can take, and to facilitate a space where dialogues can emerge to illuminate darkness.
